An albums worth of the Rock Soul hybrid that was the musical context for 1967-1969 in the Uk pop world. Thumping bass lines *,* loud brass *,* chopping rhythm guitars *,* sweeping violins *,rousing vocal chorus backings *,* characterise these selections *. Variations on the theme are evident *,* from the Euro influence,* to the Club sounds,* to the downright quirky. Some well known names in there *,* and even a hit *(very rare in this series *!) with Clodagh Rogers *,but also plenty of obscure material for collectors to get their teeth into *,* including the previously unreleased and only very recently discovered Ministry of Sound tapes. Volume six in the established and well received series with plenty of media followers such as Sean Rowley *,* Paul Lester *,* Mark Lamarr *. As with the previous five volumes the main criteria is a focus on Brit girls,* and/or Brit girl productions. So for example although Claire Francis is American she worked as an A&R Producer in London during this period and recorded at London studios with UK musicians. The resulting recordings are a distinctly clearer UK production sound,* than if the same had been attempted in the US at the time.
