This is the tropical sound of Colombian dancehalls and clubs in the 1960s and '70s, when the legendary Discos Fuentes record label led the way. The sounds emanating from the Barrios and beaches of Colombia are a unique mixture of Latin and Afro Rhythms, the Highlife and Rumba of West Africa and the Calypso of the Caribbean, as well as the Tropical Rhythms of the Colombian Cumbia, Gaita, Fandango and Porro driving percussion, swinging horns, hot pianos and jumping basslines - this music was made for dancing! All tracks are taken from the original master tapes and fully re-mastered, many never before reissued or heard outside of Colombia.
