China Surpassing is the author's third analytical work following his visits to a hundred countries. Building upon the foundations laid in China's Impact and China's Rise, the author examines how China has surpassed the West, represented by the United States, and the Western model across various domains. These include economic aggregate, citizen assets, social welfare, technological innovation, and institutional arrangements. In many of these areas, China has already overtaken the United States; in others, it is poised to do so in the near future; and in the remaining areas, persistent efforts may ultimately lead to China surpassing the West as well. As a great nation that has sustained its civilization for five thousand years without interruption, China maintained a leading position in the world throughout most of history. Its lag behind the West is a phenomenon of the modern era. Since the modern age, China's rapid "catch-up" and surpassing of the West stem from the overall success of the Chinese path and the Chinese model. This success is rooted in a deep understanding of the essence of Chinese civilization, the inheritance of China's red traditions, and the assimilation of beneficial international experiences.
