Description
In Austria there aren't many bands hailing the strongly teutonic-influenced Heavy/Power Metal-sound. However, one of these rarities out of the mass are the lower-Austrian Valsans, formed in 1996, but released - except of a demo called 'Dawn Of Metal' (2004) - nothing within the first 14 years. Now with the new album 'Sword' through us there appears - after it was put out last year as a self-release - the first professional release of this horde. Traditional-oriented Headbanger should directly remember names like Grave Digger, Manowar and Running Wild, but they also have their own characteristics. Most simply-played but murderously heavy neckbreaker, controlled by a hellish thundering doublebass-wall, together with brutal backing-vocals and on top of that lyrics that serve the beloved True Metal-cliché, are the special features of the quintet, although you can hear some quieter tones in one or another moment. Because of the nasal voice of singer Andy probably even some fans of Manilla Road could get interested in the 10 tracks of the CD. Let's wrap it up: Valsans is the perfect replacement-drug for those who were disappointed by Manowar-tunes in the last years or for those, who still cry for their own concerning the split of Running Wild! True Metal for true Metalheads!
