Description
Early nineties. Yugoslavia is crumbling, Croatia proclaimed its independence. Gabriele left Fiume (now Croatia) to live in Milan a very long team ago, when he receives a mysterious postcard unsigned, who invited him to return to his city for a meeting with the unknown sender. In his youth Gabriele came to politics at a time when Italy was about to leave Fiume to Yugoslavia. Gabriele married the cause of communism in direct conflict with his father. But everything changes when, in 1948, Stalin excommunicated Tito: like most Italians, Gabriele, adhering to a not nationalist vision of communism, he openly took a stand in favour of Stalin. He was arrested and deported to the concentration camp on the island Calva, where he spent two horrible years.
