Description
The Hungarian Instrumental Prog band SOLARIS was originally founded by some school friends in 1980. Their name was derived from the title of a book by Science Fiction writer Stanislaw Lem. SOLARIS' 1984 debut LP: 'The Martian Chronicles' is considered my many to be a classic of the Prog-Rock genre and in 1997 it was re-issued on CD with 2 Bonus Tracks. The album featured some of the finest Instrumental Prog ever recorded, with majestic Moog dominated themes soaring away over rippling sequencer rhythms and brilliant flowing keyboard-led symphonic rock tracks of the highest calibre with some stunning synth soloing and strident guitar riffs. All manner of great influences were there, ranging from PINK FLOYD to JETHRO TULL and CAMEL to VANGELIS and all points in between. Now in 2014 the band have re-united to record the long anticipated 2nd volume! The musician line-up for 'Chronicles II' is: Attila Kollár (flute / tambourine / whistle), Róbert Erdész (keyboards), Csaba Bogdán (guitar), László Gömör (drums / percussions), Attila Seres (bass) and Ferenc Raus (drums). Featuring: István Cziglán (guitar - archive recordings), Tamás Pócs (bass - archive recordings), Tamás Erdész (guitar), Balázs Szendofi (bass), Péter Gerendás (guitar), Ferenc Muck (sax), Zsuzsa Ulmann (vocal), Edina Szirtes Mókus (vocal / violin) and Tünde Krasznai (vocal).
