There are eighteen Siddhars mentioned in Tamil literature. Sivavaakkiyar as one of the most prominent sidhar because of his poem Sivaa vakkiyam. Though his birthplace is uncertain, he is believed to have been born in 9th-century Tamil Nadu. It is believed that he uttered the name of lord shiva at his birth. Hence his name is Siva Vakkiyar. The one who uttered SivaAll the eighteen Siddhar have written songs for common men, which holds the mystery of the universe. Siva Vaakkiyar wrote this poem in 10th Century. There are total 526 songs.
