Imagery in the Poems of Wallace Stevens

Imagery in the Poems of Wallace Stevens

0 - Default Title
Description
Imagery, symbolism and allegory are mesmerising poetic techniques that leave the readers in a trance. Wallace Stevens poems are rich in Imagery. Although his poems are predominantly philosophical speculations, it is very hard to pin him down to a particular genre. Future research on Wallace could be carried out on various perspectives. The rustic setting, the winter and the summer are recurrent themes in Stevens. Hence the impact of pastoral settings in his poems can be exclusively studied by future researchers. The rich and multifarious characters of Wallace would appeal to avid readers and hence worthy of a special treatment. The different layers of his themes can also be investigated by future researchers. Stevens work is a classic example of textual scholarship and textual criticism. His works have not been interpreted properly according to the critic Harold Bloom. This book presents many interesting caveats for future research.
