Yang-Won Son grew up in Korea under Japenese rule, and while he was still at school his Christian faith was severly challenged when worship of the Emporer was made obligatory to all. This was the beginning of his unchaacteristic unyielding faithfulness to Jesus Christ, which was to lead to his first imprsonment by the Japenese. After the defeat of Japan in the Second World War, Pastor Son was released, only to ne imprisoned again - this time by the communists. His story, part of which has already been told in The Seed Must Die, is one of the triumph of faith under persecution
