Organogels

0 - Default Title
Description
Photoresponsive organogels have gained significant attention as smart materials owing to their ability to undergo reversible changes in physical properties under light stimulation. Incorporation of photoactive moieties into flexible organogel networks allows precise, noninvasive regulation of structure and function using light as an external trigger. Recent advances in their design and synthesis have broadened applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and biosensing. This review highlights strategies to improve light responsiveness, stability, and biocompatibility of photoresponsive organogels. Key challenges such as large-scale fabrication, limited light penetration, material degradation, and controlled response kinetics are critically discussed. Future directions include the development of sustainable and biodegradable systems, advanced light-responsive functionalities, and emerging applications in personalized medicine and environmental monitoring, positioning photoresponsive organogels as next-generation functional biomaterials.
