A New Concept of Psyche

A New Concept of Psyche

- Default Title
Description
1. I do not present the psyche in isolation, but as part of a meta-psychology which also encompasses psychology.2. I derive a "Differentiation" of the psyche and all that is psychical relevant from analogies to basic linguistic patterns. By doing so, I am assuming that language is the most effective way to convey the psyche and everything psychically relevant, i.e., everything that concerns us as human beings. 3. Furthermore, I assume fundamental and existential "Dimensions" of human existence. The absolute dimension is of the utmost importance here.4. Just as I consider the general psychical relevant to be the foundation of the psyche (i.e., metapsychology as the foundation of psychology), I also consider disorders of the psychical relevant to be fundamental to disorders of the psyche (i.e., metapsychiatry as the foundation of psychiatry).I postulate that psychical disorders arise from confusions ("inversions") of the existential dimensions.5. Finally, I briefly outline the theoretical and practical (especially psychotherapeutic) consequences that arise from this concept.
