That a nun from a Belgian convent could come out of nowhere and cut a record that was on top of the charts 'for 10 weeks' still ranks as one of the music industry's most remarkable stories. Sister Luc-Gabrielle (her real name was Jeanine Deckers; she recorded under the name Soeur Sourire or "Sister Smile") not only had a #1 album in 1963 for Philips, but also notched a #1 hit in 'Dominique' (included here) and had a movie made about her life starring Debbie Reynolds. But this album's never been released on CD...go figure!
