Description
The major aim of the study was to strengthen students engagement to learn practical skills. The specific objectives of the study were to; identify and implement interventions, and evaluate the impact of interventions that strengthened students engagement to learn practical skills. The study was voluntary and participatory among 50 stakeholders i.e 36 laboratory students, 4 Hospital teaching laboratory staff, 5 administrators, 3 Hospital practicum sites supervisors, and 1 alumnus from a Health center IV and 1 community Leader. All stakeholders' views were helpful in the situational analysis. During future workshop and work process analysis the following interventions were identified: enhancing practical return demonstrations, scheduling time for practical self- study, attaching students in pharmacy and records for inventory and store management respectively, allocating specific period for theories and practical, providing pre and post-HIV Counseling skills.
