Basal Implants: An Overview

Basal Implants: An Overview

0 - Default Title
Description
The need to restore partially and completely edentulous patients with implant has become a widely accepted treatment option. The conventional system involves permanent prosthetic restoration after 4-6 months of placement. This leaves the patient with no teeth or with a removable temporary prosthesis for an extended period of time. Basal Implantology overcomes this drawback. Basal implants are placed in basal bone and can be immediately loaded with prosthesis, as this bone is very strong, never gets resorbed throughout the life, and forms the stress-bearing part of our skeleton. To better understand this concept, this book attempts to provide the reader with an overview of the basic aspects of basal implantology.
