Description
From 2003-2006, Ollen Mutemwanenge Sosole received his theological training at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Malawi. Later, in 2008-2011 received a Bachelor of Theology at Christ Baptist Seminary in South Africa. In 2024, he received a Master's degree in Theology and Religious Studies from Mzuzu University. He is currently doing his PhD in Theology and Religious Studies with the University of Malawi. For ten years, Ollen Sosole pastored Bwengu Baptist Church, and for five years Mzimba Baptist Church. Further, for three years, he served as the Regional Overseer for the Baptist Convention of Malawi for the North Region. Additionally, for seven years, he taught at the Baptist Theological Seminary as a Lecturer. He also served as the Registrar, Acting Principal and Vice Principal of Baptist College. He is now the General Secretary of the Baptist Convention of Malawi. Ollen Sosole discusses that the absentee fatherhood phenomenon is a global issue that affects many nations despite being a gateway to the socio-cultural (under) development in the world. Yet, it ruins relational, economic, religious, spiritual and political aspects as is the case among Baptist Christians of Mzimba. Despite the church being silent to mitigate the challenge, the study brings a practical pastoral approach to minimize the phenomenon.
