The cast, as is typically the case from this era of Bayreuth productions, can hardly be bettered: Martha Mdl, Ramn Vinay, a young Dietrich-Fischer-Dieskau (as Amfortas), Hans Hotter, Josef Greindl and Toni Blankenheim.
