Description
Theater of Voices create a unique mosaic in sound with this program of chant and polyphony drawn from both Eastern and Western Europe. The common thread running through all the music is what might be called a medieval sensibility towards sound and expression. The title refers to the fragmented survival of the distant musical past in manuscript collections, which are often in incomplete or damaged condition, and the fragmentation of Christianity into eastern Orthodoxy and Western Catholicism. The tracks are divided in to their origins by country as follows - 1-5 Italy; 6-9 Greece, 10-13 Russia, 14-20 England and 21, France.
