This research is based on the fact that adolescents have been exposed to different social media platforms in the early phase of their life which has been found to be associated with sleep deprivation that can later result in depressive symptoms.
This research was conducted in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, where electronic gadgets are accessible to early adolescents. We, as authors, have learned greatly regarding the significant impact of social media usage on sleep quality and academic performance and have had the opportunity to interact with young minds to possibly intervene in this impact.
During the data collection period, we met with the parents, teachers, and mental health advocates who were excited to learn the outcome of this research and coordinated throughout the study process.
As we believe that ""Small steps matter,"" we are working on addressing the impact of our research on realistic and sustainable interventions for digital and social media addiction.
