Description
"I invite the reader to peruse this detailed text that articulates music therapy and health promotion strategies. I note here that this is a historical document, a record of a period marked by interdisciplinary tensions, by the shaking of hegemonies, such as that of biomedical clinical models. As in a great Battle of Stalingrad, the territory is disputed inch by inch, house by house, man by man. Without wishing to be grandiloquent, I assert that music therapy revives ancient paradigms, such as that of healing art, and proposes broadening horizons by shedding light on recesses capriciously hidden by the paradigm that is coming to an end, proposing new questions to answers worn out by new demands. While there is talk of normalizing the subject, this new strategy (or device) proposes a resizing of the subject and everything related to it. It is a battle that will define the dynamics of health care. Add to this the most varied interests, such as those of large laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry, in addition to the already well-known medical corporatism and its extremes, such as the Medical Act. Who does health belong to, after all?" - Marcello Santos
