Description

Maria Ripoli's remake of Ang Lee's film *'Eat Drink Man Woman' has the action taking place within an Hispanic-American family living in California. Gourmet chef *(Hector Elizondo) finds that his sense of taste is diminishing with age but still manages to get his three *(unmarried) daughters around the dinner table regularly along with various guests. His eldest,* Letitia *(Elizabeth Pena) is a repressed school-teacher,* his middle daughter,* Carmen *(Jacqueline Obradors) has just accepted the offer of a new job in Barcelona *(much to the displeasure of her father),* and his youngest,* Maribel *(Tamara Mello) has set her eyes on a handsome Brazilian student *(Nikolai Kinski). Amongst the various guests are a shy single mother,* her over-powering mother *(Raquel Welch) and a ballplayer to whom Letitia's students have been secretly sending love letters from her.
