Guitarist Rovshan Mamedkuliev, born in 1986 in Baku, Azerbaijan, graduated Nizhny Novgorod Conservatoire with honors, and was invited to join the faculty upon his graduation. Since then, Rovshan has performed in major cities in Europe and the USA, including Carnegie Hall in 2012. His competition wins include first prizes at the 2014 Francisco Tarrega Intl Guitar Competition, Benicassim and the Guitar Foundation of America. Semi awake, Semi-dream features music of Fernando Sor, Francisco Trrega, Aleksandr Borodn, tpn Rak Rak (b. 1945), Anatoli Lidov and Sergey Rudnev (b. 1955).
