New band formed by three former members of The Black Crowes: Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien. The album was recorded live in front of a small audience at the Applehead Recording in Woodstock, New York. Just Omission, the first song on the album, is a studio recording. The repertoire of the album includes Black Crowes songs, versions and new tracks. The Magpie Salute also features the collaboration (in what was his latest recording) by the recently deceased keyboardist of The Black Crowes, Eddie Harsch.
