Uta Kbernick was born in Berlin and lives in Zurich. She won several awards such as the "Silbernen Stuttgarter Besen 2008" and the German Cabaret Award 2009. Usually she presents herself alone, but on her new album "Auch Nicht Schlimmer" she becomes some support by Nicolai Ziel (drums), Simon Bauer (contrabass), Jan Rohrbach (guitar) and Jonas Hauer (Wurlitzer piano, accordion and Hammond organ). The singer Dota Kehr, which has produced this studio album of Uta Kbernick and now publishing it under her label "Kleingeldprinzessin Records" is also to hear on the album (accordion, acoustic guitar, backing vocals). There is a very peculiar mixture of dry humor and sadness in Kbernick texts. Her songs are gentle, strong, vehement, warm and sometimes with a refreshing brittleness. Uta Kbernicks album is direct, simple, touching and beautiful. And so is her singing. The highly talented musicians are an excellent support for this style. They are a great asset and Kbernicks fragility doesn't get lost.
