Internal Fit of Co-Cr Crowns: Casting, CAD/CAM & 3D Printing

0 - Default Title
Description
Accurate internal fit is a critical determinant of the clinical success and longevity of full-coverage crowns, as it directly influences retention, marginal integrity, cement thickness, and resistance to microleakage. With the growing shift from conventional to digital fabrication techniques, it is essential to evaluate and compare their accuracy. This in vitro study aims to comparatively assess the internal fit of (Co-Cr) crowns fabricated using three different techniques: conventional casting, CAD/CAM, and 3-D printing. Standardized tooth preparations were used to fabricate Co-Cr crowns by each method under controlled laboratory conditions. The internal fit of the crowns was evaluated using established measurement techniques to ensure precision and reproducibility. The study analyzes variations in internal gap values among the three fabrication methods, highlighting the influence of manufacturing processes on restoration accuracy. By comparing traditional and digital workflows, this study provides insight into the advantages and limitations of each technique in terms of internal adaptation. The findings aim to guide clinicians in selecting the appropriate fabrication method.
