Es beginnt zu brodeln – in Dieter Manns Deutschem Theater oder in Tamara Danzʼ Rockband Silly. Die Malerin Bärbel Bohley wird zur Ikone der Widerspenstigen. Der Aufstand wird mit der Demonstration am 4. November 1989 auf dem Alexanderplatz manifest.
