THORACIC PEDICLE MORPHOMETRY IN MALAYSIAN POPULATION

THORACIC PEDICLE MORPHOMETRY IN MALAYSIAN POPULATION

- Default Title
Description
The use of pedicle screw as a fixation device had been confirmed to provide the most stability in an unstable spine. An accurate knowledge of the pedicle morphology is of utmost importance for a safe transpedicular screw placement. My previous study had shown a significantly smaller thoracic pedicular parameters in the Malaysian population. As the thoracic pedicles are small in size and in close proximity with neurovascular structures, the margin of safety in the placement of thoracic transpedicular screw in Malaysian population therefore needs to be defined.
