Kurt K. Keller, born in 1925, like many young men of his generation, was proud to be able to serve his "leader" and joined the Wehrmacht. Stationed at Normandy, the young soldier witnessed the terrible carnage on "Omaha Beach". After the retreat, he was tired of fighting and decided to desert with a comrade. The death sentence was pronounced over him but instead of the execution, he and his comrade were igned to an umption Command on the Eastern Front. The Russians rolled over the German positions with their tanks. Kurt Keller got into captivity, had to recover KZ victims and clean up in the camp. Then, together with 1,500 comrades, he was loaded into a freight train to Siberia. During his dramatic escape, however, Keller chose the wrong train in the tangle of the rail strands and, half-starved, drove directly to another prisoner of war camp...
