Description
Julius Posener's moving life was marked by numerous stations: coming from bourgeois ish Berlin house, he went to Paris in 1933, emigrated to Palestine in 1936, moved on to England and Malaysia to to Berlin in 1961. This changeable fate is mirrored in the lively correspondence he maintained for decades with a wide range of letter partners: with Erich Mendelsohn, Le Corbusier, art historian Max Raphael, Pierre Vago, architect Lotte Cohn, his mother and older brother, but also with Thomas Mann. For this volume, from the extremely rich fund of several thousand letters, over a hundred were selected and supplemented by annotations, commentaries and - where necessary - by the answers of his correspondence partners.
