The history of the Booth family is rich and complex. The family in this book are all descended from John Booth, a clockmaker and his wife, Elizabeth Davis, wife, mother of sixteen children and woman who along with her husband and family dreamed of a new life in America with the Latter-Day Saints. Their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. lived, loved and inherited their dream. This scrapbook' covers the family from their life in London, England to St. Louis, MO, to Kanesville, IA, to Salt Lake City, UT. Nathaniel Booth, the clockmaker's youngest son, would travel to Stockton, CA and return to Iowa, living, loving and eventually dying in Shelby County, Iowa. Included in volume I is a history of the descendants of David and Mary (Davies) Phillips of Wales. Their daughter, Mary Ann Phillips, would marry Nathaniel Booth and return with him to Iowa. Much of the Phillips family stayed in Oakland, California and lived rich and wonderful lives. Earl "Red" Phillips Baldwin became a professional baseball player, even playingwith the White Sox in the 1915 season.
