Brunel's Great Britain

0 - Default Title
Description
Follow the story of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's famous but unlucky liner, the SS Great Britain. Launched in 1843, she was the largest and most advanced ship of her time, but bad luck was never very far from her bows. In 1846 she was grounded off the coast of Ireland where she remained for a year. After being towed to Liverpool, she was sold and used to carry passengers between Britain and Australia until 1876. While working as a cargo ship, she ran aground in the Falklands in 1886 where she stayed until 1970 when she was towed back to Bristol and restored.
