Description
Bluegrass from banjo master Jim Smoak and the Louisiana Honeydrippers. He began his career in 1952 with Bill Monroe playing in the Bluegrass Boys, with whom he is heard on the classic tunes "Close By" and "My Little Georgia Rose". Later as well as playingwith The Louisiana Honeydrippers he played with The Mountain Dew Hillbillies. His songs have been covered by the likes of J.D. Crowe and the Dixie Chicks.
