Description
Jerry Jeff's second album for Atco found him, like many a late-'60s singer-songwriter, in Nashville, where he hooked up with a lot of the same guys (Kenneth Buttrey, Charlie McCoy, Paul in) that backed Dylan when he made a similar move. Eliot Mazer and David Briggs, shortly to produce Neil Young, were also on hand for this album, which went in a little more uptempo, commercial direction than its predecessor, `Mr. Bojangles'. It even includes the original version of that song, which, after Walker played it during a November 1967 all-night radio show on New York's public radio station WBAI, resulted in so many listener requests that Atco had Walker re-record it for his debut album on the label. This album includes that original, late-night performance of `Mr. Bojangles', plus the Walker originals `Help Me Now'; `Blues in Your Mind'; `Janet Says'; `Dead Men Got No Dreams'; `Happiness Is a Good Place to Visit but It Was So Sad in Fayetteville'; `Courage of Love'; `A Letter Sung to Friends', and `Born to Sing a Dancin' Song', plus versions of `Seasons Change'; `About Your Eyes', and `Tracks Run Through the City'. One of Jerry Jeff's finest, a Collectors' Choice Music exclusive!
