Description

The element of water, its beauty and power have long made a great impression on people; some choose to express this through music. These are very different works, written to words of poets, psalms or to the composers' own poems. They are connected by the human voice, multiplied by a several-person choral ensemble. Such a choice of performers perfectly expresses music composed to poetic texts while bringing to mind associations related to water, its plurality in the unity of the element.
All songs refer to the theme of the sea, which is perfectly and suggestively conveyed by the vocal texture. At the same time, both the textual and musical layers of the presented compositions reflect infinite metaphorical connotations, related to the themes of water, life, travel, infinity.
All these works are the result of the work of the Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin, a versatile ensemble that already has a long tradition in its hometown. The choir was rehearsed and conducted by Sylwia Fabianczyk-Makuch.
