Description
"In use over Europe" is a contemporary report of a man who has experienced an important chapter of German air war history up close. Günther Scholz, vintage 1911, entered the marine in early 1934 and started an officer raceway. As a leutnant and hunting flyer, he then experienced the construction of the German Air Force. In 1938 he flee along the side of Adolf Galland and Werner Mölders as a member of the Legion Condor in the Spanish Civil War and gained first combat experiences. At the beginning of the Second World War, Scholz was the top leutnant and season captain in JG 54. With his season, he experienced the Poland and Westfield train, the air battle for England, the Yugoslavia field train, as well as the war against the Soviet Union. In 1942, Scholz came to the ice sea front as a group commander in JG 5. In 1943, he took over the leadership of the squadron which could gain great success under the most difficult climatic conditions north of the Polar Circle. Günther Scholz end the war as a league and fighter plane leader of Norway. In 2014, Günther Scholz was one of the last still living members of the "Legion Condor". He was the last still living former squadron chest of drawers of the Air Force and the highest still living former Wehrmacht officer. He was therefore one of the last big personalities that could still tell about their experience themselves. His memories found good support in his extensive photo albums. This makes this book so interesting.
