Description
Howlin' Wolf was undoubtedly one the most electrifying performers in Blues music history, and a recording artist who was a principal of electric Chicago Blues during the genre's halcyon days in the 1950s and early 1960s. Disc one of this collection contains no less than 25 of the Wolf's most exciting tracks, recorded between 1951 and 1955, backed by a host of fabulous musicians such as Hubert Sumlin, Ike Turner, Otis Spann, Willie Dixon and many more. Disc two was recorded in 1964 on the American Blues Festival tour, with Sumlin, Dixon and Sunnyland Slim - extraordinary performances from a killer band and legendary vocalist at the top of his form.
