The book argues that the question of what it means to work politically with film and video is as urgent as ever. In narrative texts, photo essays, and theoretical analyses, contemporary film and video makers provide answers informed by their artistic and activist practices. Republished writings from the 1970s, '80s and '90s, most of them translated here for the first time, give new insight into the continuities and shifts in the debate. Der Sammelband "Der Standpunkt der Aufnahme - Point of View" ist aus einer fortlaufenden Programmreihe im Kino Arsenal in Berlin hervorgegangen. Das Buch behauptet die unverminderte Aktualität der Frage, was es heißt, mit Film und Video politisch zu arbeiten. Texte, Bildessays und theoretische Positionen zeitgenössischer Film- und Videomacher_innen geben Antworten aus der künstlerischen und aktivistischen Praxis.
