Full, of course, of the trademark Susan Hedges strengths of great singing and piano playing, and of course wonderful original songs. . Produced at Area 5.1 by Ronnie Stone, who has previously worked with Mansun, Catatonia, the Pixies etc, it is an eclectic album with many tracks portraying strong women. It contains some great ballads of lost love and yearning, the Cuban/calypso feel of "Latin Night at Sunnyland Slim's" and of course the classic, anthemic "River City Girl", inspired by her native Liverpool, which is now an undoubted highlight of her live show. This new piece of work reflects Susan's maturity as a singer/ writer refusing to be pigeonholed, a brave move that will undoubtedly retain her loyal fans as well as finding many new ones.
