I would like to thank my advisor, Professor Mustafa Toprak for the opportunity to study in research laboratory and for his supervision during the period. I am forever indebted to Dr. Serap ALP for sharing his breath of knowledge of heterocyclic chemistry, for her assistance and pattience with me. Very special thanks to my dear friends Esin ¿AH¿N. The study of hetercoyclic compounds and to earn a MA in chemistry encouraged me to go further my knowledge about my field of specialization. Then, I decided to do my Ph.D in chemistry. I started my Ph.D program in Turkey. But, due to the lack of facilities, I decided to continue my Ph.D in the States. I managed to get an acceptance from University of Florida, Gainesville. Luckily, I worked for 3 years improving myself in my field of expertise in Prof. Katritzky Research Group.
