Music producer Gudrun Gut has done something unheard of. She has remixed 8 traditional folk songs that immigrated to Germany and in so doing has worked with a pool of musicians singing in 8 different languages. The title "Vogelmixe" (bird mixes) speaks for itself: the eight remixes take special care of the vocals in those songs. Gudrun Gut opens a new musical world for these songs, some of which date back as far as the 15th century and brings them into the 3rd millennium. In just 60 minutes she effortlessly manages to it Turkey, Cameroon, Morocco, Croatia, Cuba, Portugal, Transylvania and Bulgaria while all the time quoting music from Germany. The bird mixes reflect this complex and confusing diversity while each track is a self contained piece, sometimes dreamy, almost melancholy and others dance-able or even disturbing. The "Vogelmixe" is appearing as a double CD on the 2nd of September 2016. CD no. 2 contains the original versions from the CD "Heimatlieder aus Deutschland Vol.2 feat. Berlin/Augsburg".
