But an exchange of teasing barbs between the two leads to a cautious friendship. After a training injury throws Laurel's half marathon goals and emotions into freefall, she starts to see another side to awkward Calvin: a thoughtful friend or maybe even something more. But he seems distracted by his life back home and determined to shut her out. Will he ever be ready to open up about his baggage to let someone else in? With her heart on the line, Laurel may have to choose whether she needs to start running towards a new future, even if it means leaving Cal in the dust.
