The professional integration of people with migratory backgrounds is a central educational and socio-political task. How can this group of people receive better qualifications? How can their participation in the professional training and their position on the labour market be improved? How can school and training qualifications from their countries of origins be acknowledged and used in Germany?
Experts addressed these questions during a specialist conference of the AG BFN (vocational education research network). The contributions of the anthology document the results. Thus, it is necessary to support young migrants with their search for training vacancies, to raise the interest of adult migrants in continuous professional development courses and to make their competences transparent. Not only does this aid the better integration, it is above all an opportunity for our society.
