CD-Beschreibung:
Das deutsch-japanische Klavierduo Yuki Nagatsuka/Gerhard Wöllstein stellt berühmte Werke für zwei Klaviere wie die "Haydn-Variationen" (Brahms) oder "Scaramouche" (Milhaud) selten zu hörenden Kompositionen dieser Gattung gegenüber. Eine hochinteressante Entdeckung ist hierbei die "Fantasie op.11" des 22-jährigen Max Bruch, ebenso wie das "Concertino op.94" von Schostakowitsch aus dem Jahre 1953. Den spektakulären Schlußpunkt bildet Ravels virtuose Bearbeitung von "La Valse".
