De toutes les villes dévastées par la guerre de 1914-1918 Saint-Quentin est de celles dont la reconstruction fut le plus heureusement marquée par l'Art déco. Of all the towns devastated by the 1914-1918 war, Saint-Quentin is one of those whose reconstruction was the most happily influenced by Art Deco. Just like Reims, Soissons, Cambrai and Béthune, it ensured the supremacy of this multi-faceted style even before the Paris Exhibition which raised its influence to the heights in 1925.
