Il potere è tanto organizzazione istituzionale quanto discorso di legittimazione, tanto realtà di fatto quanto rappresentazione, tanto esperienza individuale quanto espressione collettiva. Esso da un lato ha un rapporto strutturale e biunivoco con il diritto (che serve a limitare e regolare il potere, ma ne ha anche bisogno per essere efficace), dall'altro incrocia le dinamiche psichiche e intersoggettive attraverso cui si costruiscono le identità che qualificano l'umano.
