Pianist Jonathan Gee and his trio - bassist Steve Rose and drummer Winston Clifford - recorded their debut album for Jazz House live at Ronnie Scott's Club over three dates during April 2000. An experienced musician, Gee has worked with many top American musicians including David Murray, Joe Lovano, Benny Golson, Art Farmer and Harry Allen, as well as some of the UK's leading jazz musicians: Steve Williamson, Ian Ballamy, Tim Whitehead and Claire Martin. Chez Auguste contains seven Gee originals, three of which were written with the trio members, and the standard When I Fall In Love. The album includes two versions of the title track, both of which illustrate the spontaneity and originality of the trio's performances.
