Judy Davis plays Judy Garland in this made-for-TV biopic of the troubled Hollywood star. Beginning her career on the vaudeville stage, Garland found fame as a child actress at MGM, starring alongside Mickey Rooney in a series of juvenile musicals and taking the lead role in the all-time classic 'The Wizard of Oz'. However, by this point in her career Garland was already addicted to sleeping pills and barbituates, and as her popularity continued to grow with films such as 'Meet Me in St Louis', so did her personal problems as well. Based on the memoirs of Garland's daughter Lorna Luft.
