Öffentliche Theologie angesichts der Globalisierung
0 - Default Title
Description
[Public Theology in the Face of Globalisation]The term public theology serves as a generic term for an international and very diverse debate. The theologians share the reference to the 'public' nature of their subject and method. The study firstly introduces the emergence and development of public theology in the United States and Germany. Secondly, it reconstructs one of the earliest conceptions of public theology, presented by the US-American social ethicist Max L. Stackhouse (* 1938). For the first time his broad work is portrayed in its genesis and systematic and located in its theological and socio-historical context. A critical-constructive relecture of his conception shows his contribution to the current debate.
