Treize artistes contemporains - peintres, plasticiens, sculpteurs, photographes, vidéastes - ont choisi Marseille pour port d'attache. À l'abri dans ces lieux cachés et insolites, ils se préservent des regards indiscrets - un anonymat gage de liberté. En dévoilant leurs ateliers pour cette trajectoire photographique et littéraire, ils se découvrent passeurs. Ces rencontres au coeur des espaces personnels de travail tissent le fil immatériel qui nous guide à travers une ville-labyrinthe dévoilant lentement un inépuisable réservoir d'inspiration. Ces treize ateliers, comme autant de «planques», ouvrent sur leur environnement urbain, un alentour source de création. Dans le désordre et le métissage, les artistes puisent une énergie singulière. Du chaos naît parfois la beauté.
Thirteen contemporary artists - painters, visual artists, sculptors, photographers and video artists - have chosen Marseilles as their home base. Sheltered in their unique, well-hidden studios, away from prying eyes, anonymity has become a measure of freedom. By opening up their studios for this photographic and literary journey, they become our guides. Our encounters in the artist's private work spaces seem to be woven together by an invisible thread guiding us through the labyrinthine city - which gradually reveals itself to be an endless source of inspiration. These thirteen studios, like hideaways, embrace their urban setting as a source of creativity. Out of the disorderliness and eclectic mixing, these artists draw their singular energy. Sometimes beauty is born out of chaos.
