Coming Attractions versammelt die Produktionen der Künstlerin und Filmemacherin Constanze Ruhm von 2001-2012, die als Serie unter dem Titel "X Characters" entstanden sind. In unterschiedlichen Formaten (Videos, filmische Installationen, Displays, Fotografien, netzbasierte Projekte) werden Identitäten und Narrative weiblicher Ikonen der Kinomoderne in experimentellen Scripts und Filmen untersucht. Die neu entworfenen Figuren und ihre Geschichten werden so zu den "Coming Attractions" einer Kinovergangenheit, deren ursprüngliche Einheit sich nun als dynamische, zeitgenössische Leinwand offenbart. Coming Attractions is a collection of the artistic works of artist and filmmaker Constanze Ruhm, created 2001-2012 as a series entitled X Characters. Ruhm presents narratives and identities of female icons from the modern age of cinema by means of different formats (video, film-installations, displays, photography and net-based projects) in experimental scripts and films. The newly created characters and their histories are being transformed into “coming attractions” of a cinematic past whose original cohesiveness reveals itself now as a dynamic, contemporary screen.
