Despite the storms of grief, she found solace in the smiles of her partner, in the kindness of her friends, and in the trees and bushes that kept her company while she studied the firmament for signs of paradise.For a long time, the poet chose to blend in, hiding her spirituality to avoid harassment. But then she learned that her way of being and knowing was frequently practiced and celebrated by non-Western and Indigenous people throughout history across the globe prior to the Western colonial transgressions that engineered the industrial simulation. Now, the poet chooses to take a stand and speak.Only through this act of spiritual proclamation can the poet reclaim her narrative from the empty ones who had attempted to silence her throughout her life. By choosing to stay authentic and embrace herself, the poet becomes a catalyst that will help to usher in renewal, unity, and verity.
